How comfy is your office?
/Check out one of the newest lounge selections by Herman Miller, ColourForm Sofa Group. Whose work spaces have lounge areas that could use a spruce up? They have the comfort and style of the mid century without making it feel like the 1920's. What could your collaborative areas have added to them to make them more useful and a desire to work in them more? We find that the more inviting that the areas are the more that associates will use them. Also, if a Mid-Manager or CEO will begin to sit in the areas and use them for the short 15 minute power meetings that they will be engulfed by the entire staff in matter of days. The top dogs do something one time, and everyone else thinks it is the right way. So how are you using your spaces to work together?

Pre-Thanksgiving Collaboration
/So before we head home for a few days off work, make sure to collaborate with your co-workers, can you get one more project off your desk, can you make one more client happy with a finished project before the end of the week, or can you make one more impression on a client before the holiday. As we sit back and think about how we collaborate in business, it is a lot like in our personal lives. When you walk into Thanksgiving with the family, do you head to the kitchen to help with the food, or snack on the food with mom, or head to the family room for some football time. Consider the same issues at the work place, collaboration works best when it works for you. That means different levels, heights, comfort levels and sense of security. Conferencing
/So we all sit around in conference rooms that are not up to speed with what you have going on in your meeting, and sometimes they are over powerful! Sometimes we just need a white board, sometimes just a conference phone and we get lost in a room seated for 14 instead of 4. How do your conference rooms work for you?
Working for the Weekend
/So we go to work for 8-10 hours a day, and then Friday comes and you get to stretch your legs all weekend and move around sun up to sun down. Why don't you bring your moving options into the office? How you ask, take an extra trip up the stairs instead of the elevator, take an extra lap around the office during lunch or from getting a glass of water. I personally always joke that my exercise at work sometimes comes from the trip to the printer. But I do have a height adjustable desk, do you have those options? It is amazing what some standing while working will really help your focus and joints keep moving. I will say that some standing while collaborating is also a great idea, so maybe some cafe tables in the lunch room and spread over the office is another option. Take a look in any coffee shop, or new fast food joint. They have high tops, low tables, and everything in between. Being comfortable is about being able to move.

But then what kind of art work, pass projects, company photos, mountains and scenery, local land marks, or just random flowers, old images, etc. Art work is sometimes a display of what you have accomplished or what your passionate about.
